Building Resilience through Self Expression Self- Expression: Using Traditional African Instruments/Rhythm to Relieve Stress. Is a 90 Minutes Drumming workshop facilitated by Francis Agyakwa, for cooperate events, team building and as part of a secondary Traumatic Stress Training that combines the following:

  • Learning how to play Djembe

  • Brain and hand coordination

  • Building Connection/community

This workshop is for individuals/groups looking for a creative outlet.

The four-sided model of thinking styles are metaphorically attributed to four regions of the brain. These four quadrants (A, B, C, D) may be characterized as: A-logical, B-organized, C-interpersonal, and D-imaginative. Creativity is a process involving all four quadrants. Also incorporated is the theory of dominance. Drumming is the only activity according to neurological expects that engages all four quadrants of the Brain

Group drumming and single-therapist drumming (while the patient meditates) are increasingly being accepted as valid therapies by the medical and psychiatric community, particularly for support of depression, cognitive disorders.
